People's Art Festival

Streetwise Art presents Erotic Art Gallery at Second Annual People’s Arts Festival (For Immediate Release) - Last year more than 4,000 people joined over 200 visual artists, filmmakers, musicians and other performance artists to celebrate the inaugural launch of the People’s Arts Festival. This year Festival planners expect that crowd to double during this one-day event on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to midnight, to be held at the Russell Industrial Center – once again securing its claim to being the largest arts festival in the City of Detroit.

After presenting a widely celebrated gallery at last year’s Festival, the Detroit-based “Streetwise Art” has been given the honor of presenting another exhibit in the only full-size gallery space available this year at the Festival in Building #2.  Streetwise Art will be presenting the Mid West Society of Erotic Photography, an association of highly acclaimed fine art photographers from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Windsor, Ontario, including the following renowned photographers:

  • Eric Cain
  • DVS
  • Johnny Flamethrower
  • Lisolette Gilcrest
  • Patricia Izzo
  • AJ Kahn
  • A. Owen Layne
  • K Leo
  • Dave Levingston
  • Chris Maher
  • Gary Mitchell
  • Frank Piccolo
  • Bob Pope
  • Robert Randall
  • Irakly Shanidze
  • Allan Teger
  • VATO

This spectacular display of fine art erotica will include more than 60 pieces, including several never-before-seen photographs, which will be making their debut at the Festival.  In addition to the framed art available for purchase through this exhibit, Streetwise Art will also be offering hundreds of art prints and books, as well as a unique postcard series (fit for US Postal Service delivery!) for sale.
