“Car Wash” Howling Diablos Alive! Records

Howling Diablos are really great band from Detroit that play some kind of raw and primitive r'n'b/blues. They started as backing band for blues/r'n'b musicians like: Earl King, Johnny Adams, Albert Collins and Johnnie Johnson. Musically this is nothing really new, but it's done really great with lot of late 60s and early 70s influences - stuff like John Mayall And Bluesbreakers or Canned Heat. The whole CD has pretty primitive and wasted sphere, maybe mostly because of raw and good done production, but also great Tino Gross vocal. Great solo guitar by Mike Smith played with lot of emotions and with great acid sphere. All that makes Howling Diablos sound different from other ordinary blues bands that you can see in local pub during the week. "Carwash" is small r'n'b/blues masterpiece. 10 great songs - 9 originals and "Gone So Long" RL Burnside Cover. I must not forget great Johnny Evans who plays jazzy sax and harp.
